Awana is an acronym for “Approved workmen are not ashamed” from 2nd Timothy 2:15. It is a fun Bible-based program that is international and non-denominational. Awana is a vibrant ministry in churches around the globe that ranges from children who are 2 years old all the way through seniors in high school.
At Judson Baptist, we teach children who are 2 years old through 4th grade in 4 different clubs:
- Puggles are children who are 2 years old.
- Cubbies are children who are 3, 4 or 5 years old and in the 2 years prior to Kindergarten.
- Sparkies are children who are in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade.
- T&Ters are children who are in 3rd grade and 4th grade.
We meet on Wednesday nights from 5:45-7:15 pm throughout the school year.
(This year we begin on August 28, 2019, and we end on April 29, 2020.)

Wondering if you still could join the program. I have a 3 and 4 year old. I saw there is nursery for under 2-do you pay for that?

Hi, Susie! We would love for you to come and join us at Judson for Awana Clubs! We will meet on Wednesday at 5:30pm.
Come around to the back of the building where the covered entrance is and the security man will buzz you in. Please tell the secretary that you would like to sign your children up in Awana.
Both your 3 and 4 year olds would be in Cubbies, the preschool part of Awana Clubs. While there is a charge for Cubbie books and uniforms, we do not charge for babies or 1 year olds to attend nursery.
The age of your youngest child would determine where he or she is placed. If your youngest is already 2 years old, we have Puggles for that age. There are some optional things (like a Puggle t-shirt) for a small fee. Children that are not 2 years old yet are in the nursery and there is not a charge for that.
While your children are participating in Awana Clubs, there are many things that are offered for the parents. Just ask when you get them signed up and checked in where to go for grownups! 🙂
I look forward to meeting you! God bless!
Julie 🙂

Hi! I just found out about your program and did not know you had groups for 2 and 3 year olds. My son is 2 1/2. Would we still be able to join in or do we need to wait for the new school year? And would he still be considered a ‘puggle’? Does it cost anything to join? I don’t know alot about program just thought it would be good for my son.
Thank you!

Hello, Jamie! Thank you for visiting our site and looking into Awana Clubs! We do have a program called Puggles that is for 2 year olds. These little tykes learn part of a Bible verse during class and have a boatload of fun!
The only fee associated with this age is for the t-shirt and that is optional.
We determine class placement by birthday. If your son turned 2 years old before September 30, 2010, then the Puggles class is right for him. If his birthday was after September 30 of last year, then he will be eligible for Puggles when we start the year again in September.
We have 2 more months left of Awana Clubs for this year and would love to have him join us either now or next year, whichever way works out according to his birthday. If it is for the next 2 months, then just come in the covered Preschool entrance at the back of the building and ask our security man about what to sign up on and where to go.
I look forward to meeting you sometime soon! Bless you!
Julie 🙂
