Sparks check in on the top floor in their rooms 3101 – 3109 with their Room Secretary and are picked up on the Lower Level in the Awana Game Room 1102.
Sparks are children who are in Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade. They are also called Sparkies.
Sparks are on a chronological journey through the Bible as Kindergartners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders.
Sparks work at their own pace throughout their handbooks. The goal is to complete their grade level handbook in one year and to do that, they should be ready to say or have completed 2 sections every week.
- Kindergartner Sparkies will begin in the Flight 3:16 entrance booklet and advance to the HangGlider Book.
- 1st grade Sparkies who have completed the HangGlider Book will advance to the WingRunner Book.
- 1st grade Sparkies who are new to Awana Clubs will begin with the Flight 3:16 entrance booklet and advance to the HangGlider Book. When that book is completed, they will move on to the WingRunner Book.
- 2nd grade Sparkies who have completed the WingRunner Book will advance to the SkyStormer Book.
- 2nd grade Sparkies who are new to Awana Clubs begin with the Flight 3:16 entrance booklet and advance to the HangGlider Book. When that book is completed, they will move on to the WingRunner Book and then the SkyStormer Book.
When a Sparkie has completed the entrance booklet, they earn their handbook and red Sparkie vest. The vest is the Sparks uniform and is to be worn each week as a place for awards to go and to earn points toward the Awana Store!

Thank you Sparks leader, Scott, for making my son Wilson love to be in your Sparks class. Wilson learned so much in Sparks and desired to learn more each week at home. I was amazed at the numerous verses each week my son could memorize and yet weeks later still remember them. Wilson learned the importance of bringing others to church to learn about the Lord. He also was touched by the missionary storied that were taught. Our entire family has been blessed by Awana. I am proud of my boys and their accomplishments in each of their clubs! Mommy and Daddy loves you both so much!

Hi, Kelly! We certainly do have room for your 6 year old daughter!
Is she a Kindergartner this year? If so, then she will need a vest ($12), the kindergarten HangGlider handbook ($10), and an optional book bag ($6). Most all of the Sparks parents opt to buy the book bag because it easily contains the child’s handbook, Bible, and any papers he or she comes home with, plus it makes it quick to identify whose stuff is whose!
If she is a First Grader who has not been in Sparks before, she will need the same items I listed above: vest, HangGlider Handbook, and optional bag.
If you will go to http://www.judsonbaptist.com and click the “Ministries” tab, then “Children”, you will be at the screen where you can register her and order the items online. There is a $5 registration fee per family.
I look forward to meeting you on Wednesday!
Blessings, Commander Julie Robertson
